How to take VSL#3®

VSL#3® contains live freeze-dried bacteria, as such it must be kept refrigerated. It can stay out of the fridge for up to seven days but after that, it needs to be stored in the fridge.

To take VSL#3® just rip open one of the sachets and sprinkle, stir or blend onto any cold food or non-fizzy drink – it’s super easy to include into your daily routine!

We recommend starting on half a sachet for the first 2–3 days to allow your gut to acclimatise to the bacteria before moving up to a full sachet once a day.

Ingredients

VSL#3® is a high concentration multi-strain probiotic, or "polybiotic", food supplement product consisting of the following 8 strains of live freeze-dried lactic acid bacteria:

  • Streptoccus thermophillus BT01
  • Lactobacillus plantarum BP06
  • Lactobacillus acidophillus BA05
  • Lactobacillus Paracasei BP07
  • Lactobacillus helviticus BD08
  • Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. Lactis BL03
  • Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. Lactis BL04
  • Bifidobacterium breve BB02

VSL#3® sachets also contain: maltose, blend of bacteria in a base of maltodextrine or cornstarch, and silicone dioxide (anti-caking agent) as excipients.
